Garden House has been selected from 200 entries to form a shortlist of 20 projects as part of the Architects Journal small projects award. The award celebrates projects which have a budget under £250,000.

The Library unit, forming part of a landscape of objects within the ‘Factory of Ideas’ is being installed on site by a local firm of joiners.

We worked with Noiascape and photographer John Whapham to create a simple exhibition space which enabled local residents in Shepherds Bush to take part in a two week workshop based around the idea of informal learning. A one minute portrait with Victorian technology was developed on site, with the negative image being inverted to create the positive image. Over the course of two weeks a wall of faces developed displaying members of the local community.

Works have started on site at the new collaborative work space and HQ for Sheffield based communications agency Peter & Paul.

Joinery is used formally and spatially at Garden House, as balustrades collide with storage towers and benches. The pieces form an interior landscape of objects which articulate zones of occupation and provide functional objects for the display of personal possessions for the occupants who rent the spaces.

Kolider is a speculation on the future of London’s High Streets. We have commenced work with Noiascape to create a temporary exhibition space on a London High Street to test ideas for the shared spaces within their mixed use buildings.

Our client and collaborator Noiascape have launched their manifesto. We have been working with Noiascape to define a strategy for their network of modern urban rental properties, from one-off houses, to mid-scale and larger mixed use buildings. A selection of our completed and proposed projects for Noiascape are included.

The bespoke red concrete floors have been installed at Garden House. Working with a specialist sub-contractor, we have developed the pigments and fibres which are integral to the floor make-up. The products will be used in Garden House as a robust but visual floor surface. The product has been developed as part of a range of concrete floors for the client Noiascape, as part of their modern infrastructure for urban renting.
